The expertise of the State Audit Office in performing high-quality audits, implementing recommendations, and cooperating with the Latvian Parliament and the government has been highly appreciated internationally. Therefore we are often selected as contractors in in international tenders, which we implement either independently or in consortium with other international partners.
After regaining of Latvia’s independence in 1991, the State Audit Office itself has experienced the transition from a control and inspection body to a modern and ISSAI-compliant audit institution. Therefore, our assistance is sought by supreme audit institutions that are currently undergoing similar transition processes. These are the Eastern Partnership and other countries, which once were a part of the Soviet Union, as well as developing countries and their supreme audit institutions.
